INTRODUCTION

This attachment is a succinct introduction to the scientific program for the 2004 ATBC meetings, to be held at the Knight Convention Center in downtown Miami.  Here we provide detailed information on how to arrive at the Convention Center, audiovisual requirements for presentations at the meeting, and a summary of the scientific program.  The scientific program is very solid:  16 interesting symposia, 8 contributed paper sessions, and two poster sessions for a total of 325 presentations.  We will run four concurrent sessions for the four days of the meeting. Our sessions will be held in rooms adjacent to the AV room and registration area, no more than half a minute apart from any room.

The meeting (and registration fee) includes four social events, starting Sunday evening.  Sunday evening there will be a reception on the riverside terrace adjacent to the convention center (buffet supper and cash bar).  Monday evening there will be a reception at the Wolfsonian on Miami Beach and opportunity to walk and dine in the art deco district of the South Beach (complimentary wine, beer and snacks).  Tuesday evening there will be a dessert reception at Fairchild Tropical Garden (free transportation, plus drinks provided by Bacardi).  Wednesday evening will be the annual meeting banquet held at the Miami Museum of Science (complimentary wine, beer and dinner) with music for dancing and enjoyment by a salsa band following.

We welcome you, and look forward to sharing an exciting and fun week with you in Miami.  On behalf of all CETroB partners,
