AUDIOVISUAL
INSTRUCTIONS
We expect that most presentations will be by
powerpoint and
digital projector. All rooms will be
equipped with a computer and digital projector, slide projector and
carousel,
and an overhead projector will be available in an adjacent room. If your presentation is with slides, load
your slides into a carousel provided by the AV attendant well before
the start
of your session, or provide the attendant with your own carousel,
labeled with
your name. If your presentation is by
powerpoint, save the presentation on a CD, label it with your name and
the
session you are participating in, and bring it to the AV room (Gautier)
the afternoon before your presentation.
Use your last name as the file name. This
will allow the AV volunteers to load
your presentation into the computers that will be assigned to your room
and
session. For the few participants
participating in a symposium and registering for only one day, arrive
at the
assigned room at least 30 minutes before the start of the program so
that the
attendant can load your program. We strongly discourage using your own
computers for presentations because of the potential for
incompatibility
with projectors, particularly if you use a McIntosh.
In the case that you insist, and there are problems, the lost
time will be taken out of your presentation.
Generally, if there is a problem in a 15 minute time slot, you
will lose
your opportunity to give your presentation. If you have any
questions about presentation equipment, plese email philippi@fiu.edu.
Poster Presenters should set up your poster in the location on the boards, matching the topic number in the program, first thing in the morning on which the presentation occurs, either Monday or Wednesday. Posters should be 3' wide by 4' tall (1m by 1.3m). Presenters need to stand by the posters during the afternoon immediately during and after the coffee break for the allotted time of 1 hour. You need to remove your poster at the end of the day.
